AI comes from the deepest pit of hell (capitalism)

I know I said "don't expect anything too serious from this website", but I also said "it is purely about my thoughts and feelings while trying to survive in a developing country", so talking about this should be okay...? This may be modified later cuz I know I'll remember some argument I forgot to write about earlier.

Artificial Stupidness sucks at art: why are people trying to normalize this?

Let's start by defining art. I'll mention three different definitions of art from popular sources:

"The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power." (Oxford Languages, Google's dictionary)
"The making of objects, images, music, etc. that are beautiful or that express feelings." (Cambridge Dictionary)
"Art is a diverse range of human activity and its resulting product that involves creative or imaginative talent generally expressive of technical proficiency, beauty, emotional power, or conceptual ideas." (Wikipedia)

All of these sources, even fucking Wikipedia, agrees that art revolves around human skill, emotion, creativity and imagination. Now, let's look at sources explaining what AI "art" essentially is.

Except I could not find a single neutral source explaining how it works. They're all either heavily defending it or shunning it. OpenAI's page about DALL-E does not explain how it works fully. All I can tell is that it can create images that replicate artwork made by humans based on a text prompt. I've seen technologies like DALL-E present many mistakes in their images, including the infamous "AI hands". Also, do you really think the example images in their website looks like actual artwork? As an artist, it just sounds to me like everyone who defends this can't draw on their own and are hoping to get to actual artists' level of skill through a shortcut. These images are so dull. Art is supposed to transmit a message. I could not possibly consider this garbage art.

Another point is that this is, essentially, a way to capitalize over work that doesn't belong to the developers of this disgrace. It is a money machine. They feed the program with artwork of real people, that spent years and years to learn manually various aspects of nature, perspective and the human body so they can accurately represent the environment in their pieces. This is another way of taking jobs away from people, since I'm sure companies sell this AI shit for cheaper than what an artist charges for a full commission. They choose which artists to steal work from to feed their machine with. This should be classified as plagiarism, a crime in multiple countries, including Brazil (my home :3) and India.

While artists only want to earn a living out of their work, AI companies aim to profit as much as possible. We turn to the evils of capitalism once again. What a surprise! Worst of all, people are supporting this bullshit because they want to inflate their own ego by calling themselves an "AI artist". You're an artist because you can write a prompt? What a joke. I wish these people could break the mirror in front of them to face reality. This is a machine capable of ruining lives in multiple aspects, not only as an art plagiarizer.

Sora, the newest invention of OpenAI and the future

OpenAI was so preoccupied with whether they could that they didn't think about if they should.

Recently, OpenAI showed the public their newest AI model: Sora. It is able to generate ultrarealistic videos solely with a text prompt. Apparently, it can also create images. Do I even need to say anything? I'm sure this technology will be used for harm. Even if the precautions in the "safety" part of their Sora page were fully implemented, bypassing is very much possible, as we've seen by ChatGPT's profanity and c.AI being used daily for things that should be restricted. Midjourney is also being bypassed.

Even if OpenAI finds a way to eradicate all weaknesses from the Sora model, which I doubt they'll do, the government could very much regulate this technology... Who knows how much they'll pay to use Sora without any filters whatsoever. Imagine not being able to tell if what you're watching is real or not.

Deepfakes are already devastating, imagine what could happen with a model like Sora? Not only that, but with access to CCTV footage, Sora could be trained to create fake videos of someone doing something they didn't. Politics will turn into a burning pile as opposing parties fabricate scandals about each other. (Actually, it's already happening!)

We're facing a cyberweapon capable of destroying entire populations. I don't doubt WW3 will start because of artificial intelligence. With the speed it's developing, soon enough we'll be convinced to plant chips in ourselves and AI will be connected to the entire population, detecting "bad behavior" and tracking where we are, what we talk about.. Maybe even what we think about? Ah, I forgot. Google already knows that. Sora and other AI tech will be essential tools for the government to assert control. And there's not much we can do, because everyone is too distracted. The average civilian is in their phone yapping shit in mainstream social media all the time and arguing about politics, teenagers' attention span is being fried because of Tiktok and most of the elderly aren't aware of what is even going on.

I'm hoping I'll die before it gets to that point.

i wrote this on a dramamine overdose lol
